From fibreglass boats to a bathroom studio

It is 1991…

…and an idea is born. Small repairs of fibreglass boats and surfboards lead two friends to try their skills in a different field. They start making their first bath model: the first mould works, and the first finished bath comes out of it.

The quality is good enough that customers keep coming and the garage soon gets too small. New premises come from a man who joins the company as managing director, and the initials of the founders' surnames give the company its name: TGB Plast. Within months TGB is a known name and a strong Slovak competitor to foreign manufacturers, with 30 employees.

From baths to the whole bathroom

Straight and corner baths in many sizes follow, then shower enclosures and trays, and later basins. Bathroom furniture makers start fitting TGB basins into their vanity units. The range grows to include boats, children's slides and industrial sanitary ware such as shower cabins and washing troughs. TGB still makes these products today.

Tiles were added later: bathroom and outdoor tiles, frost-resistant, in all sizes.
